It rained today!
Out of the blue, and with the skies sunny, it began pouring rain this afternoon. It only lasted about 15 minutes, but it was very welcome as the city is really dusty.
You are not going to believe the photo at right. It's of my colleague and I getting pedicures! There is a beauty school near our office, run by a woman formerly from the state of Michigan, and now living in Kabul.
She invited us to try getting pedicures at her school/shop, so we decided to take her up on the invitation. I thought it was a bit pricey for Kabul -- $35. But my feet have become so dry that the fee was worth it. The students did a great job.
Speaking of women, here are a few out shopping.
A couple days a week, as we are driving to or from meetings, we have to stop while sheep and goats cross the road. It's quite hilarious to see the traffic police attempting to maintain order as cars, bicycles and flocks of animals are attempting to navigate the intersection.
